Women are emerging as a strong customer base and they are expected to spend more using their mobile phones in order to purchase things. Women purchase a lot of goods and services through the internet. Whether it is jewellery, dresses or books, movies or music, they prefer purchasing these things via the internet. E-commerce has gained traction over the past few years and is expected to grow further with lots of sales being done through the many e-commerce portals. By the year 2023, sales through e-commerce are expected to increase by about 64 percent of the current sales (USD 15 billion).

Fashion as a Top Category

Women are expected to continue buying goods related to fashion in the coming few years. Fashion is a top category and women have been purchasing jewellery, clothes, and other things related to fashion including footwear on the internet. Online fashion shopping has been just 1 percent of the total US $ 44 billion industry. However, it does not mean that it is not much. In fact, it is quite a lot as compared to the sales from the other industries.
